Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, 90, Dies: Bollywood Stars Pay Tribute mapDispatchToProps Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, the Bollywood film producer who produced the 1990s film Heer Ranjha in Pakistan, has died in India. Nirmal Surinder Kapoor, the mother of actors Anil and Boney Kapoor, passed away on Friday, May 2. She died at Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital.
The next day, family and friends from the film industry visited Anil Kapoor’s home in Juhu to offer condolences. Sonam Kapoor and cousin Arjun Kapoor arrived together at the bash. Sonam was caught on camera being driven away from the scene in her car in a video posted on social media. Rani Mukerji, being close to Kapoor khandaan, was there to lend support during this tragic time. Janhvi Kapoor, who joined her sister Khushi Kapoor, also paid tribute to their grandmother. The one who was with Janhvi is none other than Janhvi's rumoured boyfriend Shikhar Pahariya. Anil Kapoor's friend Karan Johar also arrived to pay his condolences. Others present were Anupam Kher, Ananya Panday, Javed Akhtar, Jackie Shroff and Shikhar's brother Veer Pahariya.

On Friday evening, Anil and Sanjay Kapoor reached Nirmal Surinder Kapoor's home in an ambulance, carrying her remains. They were accompanied by Reena Kapoor and Arjun Kapoor. Boney Kapoor shared a note on Instagram after Nirmal Surinder Kapoor’s death. She rested quietly in the arms of her loving family on May 2, 2025. She lived a rich and contented life and is survived by four devoted children, loving daughters in law, a supportive son in law, eleven grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many many happy memories. Nirmal Surinder Kapoor was married to film producer Surinder Kapoor, who died in 1955.
