World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025 is the talk of the town in Mumbai! Jio World Convention Centre is abuzz as the swish set from the world of content creation congregates. A visit from Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri has included spontaneous dance-offs and run-ins with Bollywood stars, as well as tastings local cuisine and meeting local creators. Mosseri tucking into a meal with Bollywood's golden couple Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Brar at Papa's is also caught by media houses. In an 12 seat intimate chef’s counter Chef Hussain collaborates with local flavors, ingredients and whimsy to create his version of Indian dishes in both food and drink. While partaking in Mumbai’s fine-dining scene, Mosseri also sampled some home-cooking. Once, during an event with actress Shraddha Kapoor, she surprised him by getting some of her homemade Puran Poli – a Maharashtrian sweet flatbread. "I know you've been eating Indian food at fancy restaurants, but I really wanted you to taste something homely. "This Puran Poli is home-made Maharashtrian sweet prepared at my family kitchen. The sweet gesture allowed us a glimpse into her taste of regional Indian.

Mosseri's sugary ride didn't stop there, he was also cajoled into tasting the filter coffee ice cream at the Indu Ice Cream stall at the event. It’s already made a name for itself in the city’s small-batch ice-cream market, with its playful take on Indian ingredients in creamy, delicious desserts. Owner Saloni Kukreja said, “Thank you for serving many lovely people yesterday!! We loved all of the support, chats and enthusiasm for our Filter Kaapi ice cream!” They mentioned that coffee is Mosseri’s favorite beverage, so this Indian version with the rich South Indian filter coffee flavors is perfect. While Mosseri didn’t get the opportunity to spend as much time in Mumbai as he would have liked to explore the plethora of food options, it’s clear that his time in the city was marked with some unforgettable food experiences.
