Tamil Cinema’s Next Big Thing: ‘Benz’ Gets Into The Lokesh Cinematic Universe

If bringing together more than one or two stars for a Tamil film is a herculean task, director Lokesh Kanagaraj has gone the extra mile by introducing something we can call the Lokesh Cinematic Universe (LCU). Devotees track even the smallest bit of news from the cinematic universe. A new LCU, 'Benz', started production in Chennai since 12 May 2025, with its traditional puja ceremony. The launch was attended by the actor Raghava Lawrence and director Bakkiyaraj Kannan, pulling the curtains down for one of the most exciting projects in the history of Tamil cinema.

Star-Studded Cast

Raghava Lawrence is the hero and with two other popular actors taking part as well, the movie has been promised to be a multi-starrer action bonanza. Though the rest of the cast has been kept under wraps, exciting announcements are on the way! Samyuktha Menon is finalized as the female lead and adds to the attractiveness of the cast. Already with high hopes, the film is going to be one of biggest gems on the LCU’s roster. 

The movie Benz which is to be made soon as NSS Sankar himself will do the character Raghawa Lawrance doing the lead role and the actors like Madhavan and Nivin Pauly would be doing the important characters. The newest cast member is actress Priyanka Mohan, who has been roped in to play the female lead opposite Lawrence in the film. “Benz” is indeed one of those films that is being considered as a part of the LCU (Lawrence Cinematic Universe) and is already creating lot of anticipation among the cinema lovers. The fans are waiting positively to hear further details of the long-awaited production.

Creative Team

Bakkiyaraj Kannan of 'Remo' and 'Sultan' fame, has helmed 'Benz', and has also written its screenplay and dialogues. The story is original and written by Lokesh Kanagaraj himself. The music is composed by Sai Abhyankar, a young composer who is expected to deliver an entertaining album. The behind the scenes crew comprising cinematographer Gowtham George, editor Philomin Raj, art director Jackie, and stunt choreographer Anl Arasu is capable of producing high octane cinema.

Production Details

Three popular production banners are coming together to produce ‘Benz’ in a very gigantic way. Shooting is expected to be held at some of the major cities in India and different locations in the UAE for over 120 days. With its big budget, high expectations, and effort to appeal to wide audiences, 'Benz' will emerge as one of the most successful films of 2025.
